Failed to encode video for live streaming. This may be a temporary problem with the device encoder, so please reboot the device and try again.
We inform you about situations where live streaming could not start because video encoding failed.
In order to stream video to a live platform, video recorded on a smartphone device must be encoded as video format data.
The video data generated by encoding is streamed to the live platform, which receives this data and plays the video data in a video player that viewers can watch.
However, the video data could not be generated normally in your PRISM app and device. In such cases, the PRISM app exposes the following error screen to the streamer.
This situation is mainly caused by the following two reasons.
- A case where the device cannot encode the video in the format requested by the PRISM app.
- A case where video encoding is temporarily unavailable due to the internal state of the device.
These are more detailed descriptions of each cause.
1. A case where the device cannot encode the video in the format requested by the PRISM app.
The PRISM app encodes the video using the encoder built into the smartphone device. For this, the PRISM app passes the video data to the device encoder along with some setting information. However, there are situations in which the device encoder cannot handle this normally.
Many devices running the PRISM app do not have this problem. However, there are tens of thousands of smartphone devices around the world using the Android OS.
However, there are cases where the operation method of the encoder that each device has is different from the standard set by Android, so encoding may fail like this.
Unfortunately, the reality is that it is difficult to identify and troubleshoot problems with the various manufacturers that make many devices. So unfortunately, in this situation, we are not able to fix the problem quickly.
So, please understand that in this situation we have no choice but to guide you to find another device where the PRISM app works normally.
However, the current encoding error may occur temporarily depending on the state of the device. Check out the guide below.
2. A case where video encoding is temporarily unavailable due to the internal state of the device.
The device’s built-in encoder is not only used by the PRISM app. Therefore, other apps installed on the device may be using the encoder while the PRISM app is running. And this may lead to the current error.
In this case, improving the condition of the device may solve the problem. So, if this error occurs, please proceed with the following steps.
- Reboot your smartphone device
- Just launch the PRISM app and start live streaming
- If the problem still occurs, try again with a lower resolution
(1080p > 720p > 480p > 360p)
However, if the same problem persists even after testing with the resolution down as low as possible, unfortunately, this should not be considered a temporary problem.
At that time, this problem is most likely the first reason mentioned above. So, please understand that in this situation we have no choice but to guide you to find another device where the PRISM app works normally.
