This post tells you the cause of a situation where you are trying to play, utilize, or edit a video file in the PRISM app, but the app fails to load the file normally, and guides you on how to deal with the situation.

1. Background of errors

Both of the video files prepared in the following two ways may experience problems in the loading process.

  1. Video files created by filming or editing in the PRISM app.
  2. Video files obtained through an external path regardless of the PRISM app.

Users can create and save video files using the live streaming function, video recording function, and video editing function provided by the PRISM app.

However, there are cases where videos created through the PRISM app cannot be loaded back into the PRISM app.

In addition, regardless of the PRISM app, there are also situations in which videos downloaded from the Internet or videos created with other apps on the device are not loaded normally in the PRISM app.

2. Causes of errors

This unloading problem is due to various reasons as follows.

  • Files created in the wrong format that do not conform to encoding standards (this is the largest percentage of errors, as we create videos in many places).
  • A normal video, but the device’s decoder cannot process the video.
  • Insufficient memory capacity of your smartphone device.
  • Situations where it is not possible to extract thumbnails from videos.
  • Files that do not actually exist on your smartphone device.
  • Files in which part of the file data is lost.
  • Unknown cause.

We’ve listed seven causes here, but in real life there are many more that we haven’t identified. And each cause can be classified into more diverse causes, so it is difficult for us to identify and solve the problem.

Moreover, it is very difficult for us to set up the same situation and look at the problem because there are many cases where the problem occurs with a specific combination between the video file and the decoder of the smartphone device used.

In the meantime, we have analyzed and dealt with various causes of media loading failure. However, there are still error situations that we have not been able to respond to. We apologize for this and will do our best to resolve each error.

3. How to deal with errors

In the current situation, you can try to solve the problem in the following ways.

(1) The first attempt is to reboot your smartphone device.

Your device’s decoder may be being used by another app, or it may be in an abnormal situation for some unknown reason.

Therefore, turn off the power of the smartphone completely and then turn it on again. And after running the PRISM app, try shooting again or reloading the video file.

(2) The second attempt is to re-encode the video.

As mentioned earlier, many files are created in the wrong format that does not conform to encoding standards. However, if the file is re-encoded, there is a possibility that it will load normally in the PRISM app.

Load the video using the gallery app installed by default on your smartphone, make small changes to it, and try saving it again. A small change means adjusting the playing time or adjusting the color tone, etc. During this process, the video is re-encoded and created anew.

If the video does not load even in the smartphone’s default gallery app, it can be determined that there is a big problem with the video itself.

Hope this helps you.
